She's free!

Never did I think the same blog that announced the birth of Clara would also announce her death. I'm so proud of her. She finally let go. Free from pain and sickness. Our little angel.

It's been the bitter-sweetest of days. All we have now are memories and we will continue to reminisce and look forward to the future with a resolve to be a little better each day.

We love you Clara girl and yearn for that glorious day when we will be reunited.

Thank you for the prayers you have offered for Clara and our family, they have undoubtedly sustained us over the last year and a half and continue to comfort us. God's love abounds and is manifest through the many kind people who have been placed in our path.

The funeral will be Monday, November 12th at 11am. Details forthcoming.

Clara was a wonderful little girl. She has touched many lives across the world and remains truly inspirational. Thank you for sharing her with us. And also can I say her love for her sister was amazing. Kate was truly her hero and she must be a lovely beautiful little girl who gave so much to her younger sister. How proud you must be of her.

I don't know you. I've never read your blog before and never heard your story. I stumbled across it today on Facebook because a friend of mine "liked" the link to your blog. I just want you to know my heart is breaking for you and I sit here with tears streaming down my face for you... As the momma of young children myself, I cannot imagine what you are going through, but I am lifting you up in prayer to the FATHER today across the many miles...

I will forever think twice before I get angry with my kids, over what's usually something of little value in the grand scheme of life.

I will hug them tighter, kiss them every chance I get, and pray for them every second because I love them endlessly, and what them to be happy and healthy forever.

Clara, sweet Clara. So strong, so patient, so forgiving, so delicate. She is an example of how we all should be no matter what pile of- you know what- we feel like we've just stepped into.

God is merciful, forgiving, patient, strong and ALWAYS with us. Anyone who's lost a loved one knows that their spirits are never too far away, carrying us and comforting us. The day of reunion will be spectacular!

Our prayers include your family at this time. God Bless!

I just want to say thank you for sharing Clara's story and your faith on your blog. It has made me a more patient and grateful mother, and less likely to sweat the small stuff. I look at my 3-year-old and can't imagine how you have endured this, but my prayers and love are with you and your sweet girl.

I don't know you, or Clara but all I can think of is that it only took Clara a little over three years to accomplish God's plan for her. His plan wasn't little either. She was created with such a purpose. She has influenced thousands of people. Because of her people started donating to Children's cancer research.Because of her people empathize with families going through childhood sickness. Because of her people appreciate every day they have. Because of her people greet problems with joy. Because of her people found Jesus. Because of her people will know Jesus.
The strength of your family is unforgettable. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss but take comfort in the support you have behind you.
Clara is probably dancing right now, seeing vivid colors and making heaven smile with her beautiful grin.

I admire so much your courage to let her go and her courage to leave so gracefully. Thank you for sharing your story. I doubt an angel in heaven exists with enough spunk to keep up so they are just letting her run free! So, so happy for you both that she is free! Every time you feel a bright ray of sun I think it will be a hole in heaven letting her smile shine through right on you!

Natasha and Brian,
I just saw a brief summary about Clara on our ACCOIN newsletter and was astonished. Then I went to your blog and words escape me. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little Clara. The last time I saw her up at the hospital she looked rough, just like all the chemo kids. Then I saw her beautiful smile and pictures of her loving life on your blog and Mariah said "There is my friend." And I was so happy for a moment she looked so well! Then your posts and the pictures of her suffering. I can't stop sobbing
for you. Then I noticed Clara passed away on Seth's birthday; Nov. 7th. I understand so much of the fear of relapse, the joy of doing well, but you've had to live my worst nightmare. Relapse. Thank you both for the time spent with us. Nights in the hospital and the joy of seeing the girls ride their scooters down the hospital halls... I will never forget her smiles. Clara is another child that will be tucked away into the place in my heart where I hold all of the children I've known and grown to love who have died as a result of cancer. God bless you and your family and know that we will keep you in prayer as you travel down this most difficult road.
